Catholic Hospital Borgang

Catholic Hospital, Borgang, was started as a small health centre in an old club building. It grew up in to a big hospital in a rural area about one hundred kilometers from Tezpur. It is a private hospital owned by the N.G.O. Diocese of Tezpur and run by the Sisters of the Sacred Heart Congregation to serve the sick and suffering, The School of Nursing was established in the year 1994 by the Diocese of Tezpur attached to the Catholic Hospital Borgang.

It is run by the Sisters of the Sacred Heart Congregation. The foundation of service is to promote the presence of the living God within our lives The same living God is encountered in the patients to promote life to the full and share in the healing ministry of Christ through provision of preventive and curative care services that are based on holistic approach that affirms human dignity, love and respect for human life.

School of Nursing

Through the arduous efforts of Late Fr. Cherian Moolamattom, the then Director Catholic Hospital, with the view to expand the G.N.M Nurse’s training facilities, construction of a multi storied building with all facilities started. The Government of Assam and Indian Nursing Council has given the approval to start the General Nursing in 1994. It is approved by the Government of Assam, and recognized by the Indian Nursing Council, Delhi and Assam Nurse’s Midwives and Health Visitors Council, Guwahati.

Philosophy of the School

The management and the faculty of the school of Nursing, Catholic Hospital, Borgang believe that the caring of the sick is an expression of God’s love. The delivery of the health care must respond to a universal need for preservation, promotion and restoration of the health of the individual and family in the society. All the members of the team work together to fulfill this mission.
